Dog Dreams and Night Terrors

sleepingdogThis is something we’ve always wondered – do dogs just have the most intense/awful dreams ever?

If you’ve ever had a dog who was sleeping somewhere within eye sight and you see them start freaking out then you know what I mean. Seriously, what could they be dreaming about? Running down the street? Taking a walk? Eating grass?

Are they having nightmares? How terrifying could a dog nightmare be? Or maybe we’re wrong. Maybe dogs have incredibly intricate dreams involving intrigue and pirates and double meaning. I just want to know whats going on in there! What is making them jiggle their paws around and quietly bark!

I guess the human equivalent is a night terror.

What happens on the first night your with a dude or a gal and all the sudden they start beating the shit out of you in their dream? I gotta imagine it’s a little worse than snoring. Do you stick around for that? I don’t think it gets better. Once you’ve crossed the line where you start coming into work with a huge black eye because your significant other had a nightmare, I don’t think there’s anything that makes that sound better.

Personally, I’m terrified that I sleep walk. I live alone so for all I know, I’m up and around at night doing all sorts of weird and creepy things. That’d be a hell of a thing to learn about yourself. It’s like those reports of people on Ambien that go out and drive around or do incredibly intricate things while asleep. While on one hand it’d be an awesome story, waking up in a cornfield in Nebraska might be a jolt.

Congratulations. You’ve just finished reading the most pointless post to date. Sorry about that everyone.
